We at Hoosier Tool are dedicated to the development and manufacture of quality hand tools. Our intention is to develop a complete product line for the hand tool user and have these tools be of the highest quality and manufactured in our own facility. We will listen to the input we receive from the hand tool user community and do our best to bring forth the products they need and want. 	Here it is, the Smoother you have been waiting for. Hoosier Tool is proud to announce the addition of the A5 to its line of Infill Planes. Made in the finest tradition of dovetailed construction this plane uses no castings in its construction. The body is comprised of three mild steel plates dovetailed and carefully fitted together to form the classic coffin shape in a manner that will stay flat and true forever. The blade cap is machined from solid brass bar stock and brought to a high polish by hand as is the cap screw. A2 Tool Steel with its fine grain structure and superior stability during the heat treating process is used for the blade and chip breaker. The blade which is 2 1/4" wide is hardened to a rockwell of 62 on the "C" scale to hold hold a fine edge yet not be brittle. The Blade adjuster is machined from tool steel as well and uses a 40 pitch thread for precise blade adjustments and incorporates an adjustment to take up any future wear in the thread. It is a traditional adjuster providing both depth and lateral movement in a single lever. Finally the entire plane is stuffed with American Walnut for the classic look and feel that only it can provide. While this plane is not for everyone, it is for the serious craftsman desiring the finest tools available in today's market.
