Dovetail Saw Kit

A fine addition to any tool chest with the pride of knowing you made it. This saw kit is made with the hand tool user in mind. The 15 TPI blade is made from the finest blue tempered steel in .020 thickness, filed rip and secured in a brass back machined from solid bar stock. The handle blank is made from select cherry which you secure to the blade with two brass screws and traditional split nuts all machined from solid bar stock. The kit will require approximately 3 hours to finish, you will need to fit the handle to the blade back, drill the mounting holes through the blade and carve the handle. When completed you will have a saw to be used and enjoyed for generations.

Specifications: Blade 8", 15 TPI with a thickness of .020" filed rip and set for a kerf of .025", rockwell of 50RC with a blue finish. Handle is solid cherry Overall length of finished saw is 13 1/2".

Infilled Plane Kit

Infill plane kit includes the following pieces: Two side plates profiled and with dovetails for the sole machined, One sole of the following sizes 1", 1 1/4 ", 1 1/2" with dovetails machined for attachment of the sides, one blade blank machined from A2 tool steel, heat treated to 62RC with bevels ground , rivets needed for assembly, patterns for the infill pieces and wedge to be made from your wood and a full set of instructions to complete the project. If you are worried about the plane throat, Once you have the plane peened together, and assembled like you want, send it back to Hoosier Tool and we will cut the throat for you at no charge. Cutting the throat after peening is, in our opinion, the only way to achieve a proper throat.
