Our Driver's Thoughts

I really like to race. I feel very good about racing because racing is a fun thing to do. I think it is boring to sit and watch TV or just sit and play games.
When I am on the track racing I really do not feel anything. All I think about when I am in my go-kart is that I stay away from all the wrecks and that I want to win all the time.
When I do win I am pretty excited, but sometimes I feel really wore out. I am really tired out after a fifty-lap race.
Being competitive is a pretty hard thing to do. But my main concern is to stay away from the wrecks and drive smoothly and not turn too much and not go into the corners too fast and finish the race well.
I know that I can trust my Dad to do what needs to be done for the kart. What ever I tell him I can trust him to make the right adjustments for the kart and me. I also know that when I am on the grid that my kart is race ready.
I have made a lot of friends at the racetracks. I met a boy named Brady Houck the first year I raced when I was seven and he was eight, and we have raced together ever since. We travel to all the National events together. We stay in touch even when we are not racing and spend the night at each other's houses. I have also met a lot of kids at the Nationals that I get to see when we race at the Nationals.
When all the kids at the track are not racing we play tag, football, & baseball. I never get too tired to race. I do not think that it is too hard to keep my grades up and race at the same time. The only thing that I have to do is study for all the tests that you have in school and when you get to the track get your mind on racing.
